Sunshine and Music in the Park

Bonnet

Looking for something fabulous to do this weekend?

The Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is one of our favorite events in Portland - an amazing free event in its 37th year, it boasts a lineup of the region's best jazz and blues musicians. Take the whole family and set up a picnic area to soak up the sun and take in the music.

Here's what to take along...

.   .   .

If you're planning on doing some dancing - get all dolled up in your best jazz era digs and show off for the crowd.

.   .   .

If you love the thirties look but need a little more sun protection, bring along one of these lovely floral printed straws.

.   .   .

Fedoras are a fabulous option for sun protection, look great on everyone, and they fit the jazz theme quite nicely.

Planning on spending the full day in the sun? Don a wide brim to keep you cool and shaded.

If you can't make it to the Jazz Fest, but still want to catch some free music in the park, head out to Northwest District's Save the Summer Concert on August 1st at Couch Park, or check out Portland Parks' Summer Free for All series.
